How Instant Quoting Works: Parts, Quote, and Order

The quote workspace has three tabs: Parts, Quote, and Order. You can review geometry and price before checkout. Your quote shows the current rates and available ordering options.

Step 1: Parts — upload and confirm

Upload STEP, DXF, or SVG files, or start from a shape. For STEP, check the machining face in the 3D preview. Review detected features and depths, then choose material, thickness, and quantity. Grain matching is opt-in; it is off by default for the best yield. Confirm each part before continuing.

Step 2: Quote — cutting, material, and timing

Cutting is priced per part and shop-supplied material by whole sheets. The nest shows how many sheets are needed and any sheet-mix savings. Customer-supplied sheets use the handling fee shown in the quote. Review current lead-time choices and pickup or local delivery.

Step 3: Order — proof and checkout

Review the proof with part features, depths, materials, and quantities. Sign in or create an account when required, then approve and continue to Stripe checkout using the payment methods offered there. After payment is confirmed, the job enters the order workflow. Order status and completion ETA are available through your account, with email updates and optional SMS.

Why we built it this way

File cleanup notes, face selection, feature confirmation, and proof approval give you explicit checkpoints before parts are cut. Revisit a step whenever something needs correcting.
